Biography

 

Arthur Dorval was born in 1987. He lives and works in Lisbon. Immersed in the world of art since his childhood, Arthur Dorval nourishes a deep fascination for abstract painting. After having dedicated his studies to illustration and design, he focuses his love of making models and his passion for color on a pictorial reinvention of the geometric image.

 

Since his debut in 2010, he has developed a technique that skilfully mixes color and geometric interplay, using construction and balance, driven by a concern for detail and perfection.

 

Comparable to "painted sculptures", his Geometric Eclosions give life to compositions that vibrate with sensitivity and energy, where the fundamental open and closed shapes are arranged in new volumes, buoyed by the use of color and transparency, releasing a new architecture, which may be credible or not.

 Arthur Dorval thinks of his painting as a colored vibration. Fascinated by geometric abstraction, its balance and the power of shape, he imposes a unique language through the use of color.

 

A modern vision of geometric art, Arthur Dorval's Eclosions also resonate with a futuristic imprint. They place the artist among the most promising talents of constructed art.
