Born in 1938 in Dunkerque, Babu began his professional activity by teaching drawing and then photography. Two major exhibitions at the "Centre International de Séjour" in Paris, then at the Fnac Montparnasse (entitled “Les Nouvelles photographiques” (Photographic News) were dedicated to him. After having illustrated books, in particular "Le Hata Yoga bien tempéré", (which received the graphic art prize from the PUF publishing house), he specialized in medical iconography, then created a cancer prevention unit, where he was head of department.
When he moved to the Pointe Courte in Sète, he returned to his first love and has not stopped working since.
He held several exhibitions in his studios in Sète and Montpellier, refusing to belong to the gallery network until the "benevolent pugnacity" of Catherine Pennec succeeded in convincing him (as per Babu).
His palette is luminous and invites us to explore shades of blue, green and rust as if we were exploring the ocean floor, constantly fascinated by the atmosphere, the colors and the light.
In the gallery you will find some of his latest creations but also works that have marked his different periods of creation.
