Sylvie Pons (1962)

Biography

 

Sylvie Pons is a ceramic artist whose work is an experimentation on the medium itself. In her creations, she tries to capture movement and vibration. Through a study of rhythms (accumulation of fragments or sheets of clay organized in particular rhythms) and contrasts (matte/glossy, white/black, smooth/textured clay, full/empty...) she tries to give the clay a vital pulse. She works with stoneware and partially glazed porcelain. In this way she revisits the shapes of a mineral and organic world.
